Featured Star of The Week

This week we have our national go karter as the featured star of the week. Nabil Jefri. One of our promising talents and our future national F1 driver. Recenly, we were at the Menara Kementerian Belia & Sukan in Putrajaya for the Majlis Penyerahan Jalur Gemilang by the Minister of Youth & Sports, Y.B Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Bin Yaakob for our local boys which will be competing in Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in La Conca circuit Muro Lecesse in Italy. This championship is grand championship which will be participated by national champions, more of like a world cup of go karting in motor sports industry. Nabil Jefri was there along with other national racers for the Jalur Gemilang Giving Ceremony. This cute bright kid was very humble to share some of his stories and experiences being one of the most promising national racer in which sees he was the Asian champion for 3 consecutive years.

When did you started go-karting?
It started when I was 8. I was watching some of my friends race and it all started from there. My first event was in Mofaz Go kart track in Sg. Penchala.

What made you into go-karting ? Was it self interest or family?
It was more of a self interest. I’m grateful to have such family who supports me in this sport.

Where is the training ground for you?
PLUS Speedway Circuit in USJ Subang Jaya.

What model is your race machine?
I’m currently using Rotax Max 125cc, its an Austrian made.

Who is your idol? Why?
The 2008 F1 champion, Lewis Hamilton. Because he got skills, aggressive & charming (laughs) I see myself just like him.

What are your long term plans and how do you see yourself 5 years down the road?

To be able to take part in F3, F2, & F1 and be part of BMW F1 Team(his dream team). And 5 years down the road, to be in Malaysian A1 team.

What are your target for 2009?
More practice and getting myself prepared for upcoming events. Learn more about the technical details such as the engines, car, strategies etc.

What are your favorite subjects in school?

Math and science.


Favorite food and drinks?
Spaghetti & Milo ais

How is your schedule like most of the days?

I will be at school from 730-130pm. Tuition from 2-430pm. I will hit the gym at least 3 times a week and practice during weekend at the track.


Nabil Jefri is managed and sponsored by Comma Motor sports. This young star from SMK Damasara Utama passed his UPSR with flying colors straight A’s and had targeted to passed his PMR examination with straight A’s again. A champ will always be a champ. Believed that perseverance, discipline & focus is the key to success. We wish you all the best in your future undertakings boy and make your country proud!!! Malaysia boleh!!!
